Nokia is a high-tech company from Finland. It gained its popularity in 2000s as a leading manufacturer of mobile devices. The brand has a rich history as the company traces its origins to 1865. Interestingly, the company borrowed its name from the town called Nokia where it was founded.

The company lost its leadership in the market of gadgets in 2012. Apart from mobile phones, the company manufactures other electronics such as:

  • telephones and smartphones,
  • GSM and telecommunications technologies produced in tandem with Siemens,
  • laptops (the first one was presented in 2020), and
  • smart products which are at the development stage

By the end of 2021, Nokia’s market value was assessed at €30 billion.

Nokia stock and what influences its market quotes

The shares of the Finnish high-tech company do not cost much compared to stocks of top companies. Nokia shares traded at about $6 apiece at the end of 2021. They traded roughly at the same levels throughout 2021: at $5.5.

The shares topped out in the fall of 2014 when they traded at $8.46 apiece. At the pandemic outbreak in March 2020, Nokia stock dropped as low as $3 apiece. Afterwards, the securities gained ground.
